Gurukulam is the education system followed in India from ancient times, where children leave their homes to stay with the Guru to learn their lessons. Students are exposed to enriching experiences and activities to select a profession of their own. Up on completion of the education, Guru tests the student’s ability to apply and implement the lessons they learned and to select their interested profession in future life. Sankethika Gurukulam Or Technical Residential School is a new concept in technical education for students after their plus two to meet the challenges of the day for employment and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to prepare students to train and to make them proficient in different engineering skills so as to enable them to secure employment easily. The classes will be conducted at Gurukulam where they should stay and learn their practical oriented techno commercial lessons as a part of their daily life to the employability and employment. There are three levels of training in which students will be certified as Technicians, Supervisors or Engineers as per aptitude, interest and calibre of the students.
Irrespective of mark or group in plus two , students with aptitude in technological studies can make their further education easy, interesting and can continue till engineering graduation with a chance of stage wise termination at their interest on assurance of an employment. As all trainings are practical oriented, entrepreneur can confidently employ young and energetic work force towards timely and targeted output on the day of appointment itself.
Engineers are the people who construct the world. Engineering activities are classified into three levels of out puts: Technicians, supervisors and engineers. As per present education system in India, ITIs produce technicians, Polytechnic colleges produce supervisors, (Diploma Holders) and engineering colleges produce engineers (Graduate Engineers). Technicians are the real people supposed to put their hands on job. Supervisors should have a minimum level of hands on job experience but at the same time, they should have the ability to support the technical languages of an engineer. The University curriculum of Engineers is based on DESIGN ASPECTS and it is felt that it does not shape the Graduates for Industry Engagement. At the same time, practically, engagement pattern of Graduates is 90 % for NON-DESIGN AREAS. There will be more opportunity for employment in Servicing, Effective Plant Running, Problem Solving, Operational Performance Improvements, Marketing and Product Developments.
Now a days the above type of professionals are not confident in producing any kind of output expected from them by an entrepreneur. For most of the industries, one supervisor is sufficient to manage the output from an average of 30 technicians. One engineer is sufficient to manage the technologies to distribute and guide 10 supervisors. That means engineer, supervisor, technician ratio in average is 1:10:300. At present, the ratio of engineering colleges, polytechnic colleges and ITIs in India are far from the orientation of their employment. Technicians are very less in number, supervisors are more and engineers are still more than the real requirements. At the same time skill based employability level of practical technical force is very poor. We visualise to transform this scenario.
Induscan Academy of Engineering and Skills (Sankethika Gurukulam) introduces a new system of engineering studies. Up on completion of the basic academic education (In India, plus two is considered as basic of academic education.), an applicant with aptitude in technological studies can join Induscan sankethika gurukulam. Students shall stay within the gurukulam (Technical School) to continue their studies till completion of any one of the three Levels of termination as below.
Termination Level 1 (Technician)
The selected student should undergo the first three Modules to complete the Level 1 study. During this period , he/she undergo practical oriented training in various engineering concepts such as electrical, civil, automobile, electronics, communication, computer, agriculture, metallurgy, steel fabrication, welding, Piping, NDT, business management , technical support and disaster management. Duration of Level 1 is 400 Working Days and Methodology of study is 20% theory and 80% Practical classes. Up on completion of third module , those who want to terminate their study to work as “skilled technicians” shall opt for modules 3A to specialise in their interested subject to suit employment. Duration of module 3A is 90 days with 100% practical classes with assured placement.
Termination Level 2 (Supervisor)
The students who want to continue their study after module 3 ( in Termination Level 1) is not required to attend Module 3A but can continue with module 4, module 5 and module 6 to complete the Level 2 study. During this period of study, he/she undergoes practical oriented training with the core subjects and fundamentals of various engineering concepts such as electrical, mechanical, civil, automobile, electronics, communication, computer, agricultural, entrepreneurship and disaster management. Duration of Level 2 is 350 Working Days (Total 400+350 days) and Methodology of study is 40% theory plus 60% Practical classes. Up on completion of sixth module, when any supervisor opts for specialization in a particular discipline such as Skilled Supervisor Civil, Skilled Supervisor Electrical, Skilled Supervisor Mechanical, Skilled Supervisor Electronics & Communication, Skilled Supervisor Agriculture etc) they shall undergo module 6A. Duration of module 6A is 90 days with 70% theory and 30% practical classes with assured placement.
Termination Level 3 (Engineer)
The students who want to study as engineers after module 6 (Termination Level 2) is not required to attend Module 6A but shall continue module 7 and 8 to complete Level 3 study. During this period of study , he/she undergoes Project oriented training in design, estimation, costing and planning with the core subjects of various engineering concepts such as electrical, mechanical, civil, automobile, electronics, communication, computer, agriculture, entrepreneurship and disaster management. Up on successful completion of eight modules the students are certified as Engineers. Duration of Level 3 is 300 Working Days (Total 400+350+300 days) and Methodology of study is 40% theory plus 60% Practical classes. When any engineer opts for specialization in a particular discipline such as Skilled Engineer Civil, Skilled Engineer Electrical, Skilled Engineer Mechanical, Skilled Engineer Communication, Skilled Engineer Automobile, Skilled Engineer Agriculture etc, they shall undergo module 8A. Duration of module 8A is 90 days with 70% theory and 30% practical classes with assured employment.
Pre admission counselling (One day) will be arranged in the institute to explain the course content, course benefit, course fee, joining process, methodology of training, stipend, employment, discussions, answer to questions etc. Counselling dates will be published as per schedule of batches. Registration fee for counselling is Rs 250/- (Rupees two hundred and fifty only). Form of registration for counselling is attached.
The applicant shall have passed PLUS TWO from Government approved higher secondary school and shall have attended the preadmission counselling at Induscan to get eligibility for course admission. Mark percentage or group of plus two educations are not a matter of consideration for course admission.
Level 1 certified candidates will get employment as Skilled Technician with a starting salary of Rs 10000/- PM. Level 2 certified candidates will get employment as Skilled Supervisor with a starting salary of Rs 12000/-PM. Level 3 certified candidates will get employment as Skilled Engineer with a starting salary of Rs 15000/-PM. Employer’s terms and conditions are applicable for all employments.
